The world I’m from is cruel and painful. Trampling on common folk where they don’t know what will happen in their day to day. I’m not sure what’s worse, the World Government’s actions ad inactions, or the pirates who believe they’re above the rules.
I know there’s good people out there, I know that change is slow and painful, but I couldn’t stand hearing from my fans their fear and worries.
I know my actions were extreme though.

Thank you. Maybe I’ll tell you more as we get to know each other.

I dare say most worlds are cruel and painful, at least to some. I have yet to find a place where there was not at least some power imbalance and I admit I am just as guilty of participating in those sorts of games.

[Actually, he’s entirely guilty of it, having previously been what his brother’s friends would call a villain of the highest order, but he has changed and learned and will continue to grow. He’s not ready to tell her all that yet though. Maybe not ever.]

I believe there is always both good and evil, but that most people, it turns out, are an interesting mix of both. We have all made mistakes, but, as many have said to me, it matters more that you change and learn from your mistakes. The best people can do wrong and the worst can do better.

I feel I should say the same to you. I do hope we become good friends though.

I am not sure. All I can say is that it is how things tend to be. It’s as if as soon as a species becomes sentient, they find ways to oppress some. I like to think it does not need to be that way, but have yet to see an example of it.

[He can understand that desire. The want to have a place where everyone is equal. It’s partly his new goal with the TVA, how he thinks everyone should be free to make their own choices, no matter the outcome. Though he doesn’t pretend to think that means everyone would do good. That just doesn’t seem to be something people are capable of.]

I do not know you well enough to say, but just that you are thinking of it and trying makes me think that you have.

It doesn’t need to be like that!
I just wish more people realized it.
Instead they’re being lead to believe history written by oppressors, knowing full well that they lie.

(What could she truly do to create positive change in the world? Was there so little hope? Could anything be done? She could speak out, she could condemn but it was all talk without decisive action.)
