He never really talks about times when he was a kid.
I don’t really know much about his past, just that we share a common story with how we came to be together. Shanks has always been pretty guarded, unfortunately.
I don’t think he’s ashamed of his past, but just likes to look forward and at the now.
(It doesn’t take her long to find Buggy’s room. She’s feeling particularly giddy about the idea of pranking her father. It was silly as it was exciting. She’s sure it’s not going to go as planned, but what if it does? No need to get ahead of yourself, Uta chides herself mentally.
She runs her fingers through her long hair, a last check to make sure it looked presentable despite the fact it’s just up in a high ponytail. It’s not like she was aiming to impress Buggy. She’s allowed to want to look like she didn’t just roll out of bed.

She smiles, knocking on his door three times before taking a slight step back.)
